The name Zenaido is derived from the Greek name Zenaidios, which itself comes from the Greek word "zenais" meaning "stranger" or "foreigner". This name has its roots in ancient Greece, dating back to at least the 4th century BC.

In ancient Greek mythology, Zenaidios was the name of a young shepherd boy who was said to be the son of the god Apollo and a mortal woman named Cyrene. According to legend, Zenaidios was known for his beauty and was loved by the goddess Aphrodite.
