The surname INGINO is believed to have originated in Italy, specifically in the region of Tuscany, during the medieval period. It likely derived from the Italian word "inghino," which means "small ingot" or "small bar," referring to the occupation of a metalworker or miner.

One of the earliest records of this surname can be found in the archives of the city of Florence, dating back to the 13th century. A document from 1274 mentions a certain "Jacopo Ingino," a blacksmith residing in the Oltrarno district.

In the 14th century, the INGINO family gained prominence in the town of Certaldo, near Florence. Several members of the family were involved in the local wool trade and served as respected citizens in the community. One notable figure was Berto Ingino (c. 1320-1390), a wealthy merchant and landowner.
